About the Event

In recent years the selling of Shochu in Japan has overtaken Sake by almost double! It has even become more popular than whiskey in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Japanese seem to have kept this secret to themselves and not shared it with the outside world.

Now… on June 2nd, you will have a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy Shochu yourselves by tasting .5 different types of  Shochu as well as sipping another 5 amazing cocktails made with Shochu

Our Shochu expert, Ms. Wing Cheong from , will present us with a range of interesting facts and background on Japanese drinking culture and why Shochu has now become Japan's favourite and most original spirit.Mizunara

Please note that a few of the cocktails will be served in elegant glassware from Ireland.WATERFORD

In addition, a range of ‘Amuse Bouche’ will be served on  porcelain.Royal Copenhagen

Here is our menu:

1. Hachi Barley - Ice, mint, basil, lime juice, topped with tonic water - paired with prawn cake

2. Hachi Umeshu - Ice, plum, raspberry top up with soda - paired with a little bite of Gouda

3. Chestnut Shochu  - Ice, orange pekoe tea with orange zest - paired with mixed nuts 

4. Murasaki Imo - Ice, rose & strawberry and grapefruit juice - paired with mini open sandwiches 

5 Little Kiss ( Coffee Shochu ) neat or with ice - pairing with hand-cut chocolate

*Please note our Shochu event has only 10 seats and the price is just HKD$ 350

    We are going to taste a total of 5 Shochu Here is our list: 1. Barley (Mugi), HACHI 2. Umeshu, HACHI 3. Kuri (Chestnut) Kome (Rice) Shochu - Kumamoto, Japan 4. Murasaki (Purple) Imo - Kagoshima, Japan 5. Coffee SHOCHU - LITTLE KISS Each will be paired with a different delicious Hors d’oeuvre.
